Easter

We spent Easter weekend and part of spring break
up at Powder Mountain with friends. We had a great time
coloring eggs together, looking for eggs, swimming,
playing games, watching movies, eating (candy!),
playing basketball and hanging out.

(Look at the kitchen window- buried in snow.)

The Easter bunny found us clear at the top of the mountain.
He had to brave a lot of snow to get to us!

I guess since the Easter bunny had to come all the way
to powder mountain to find us, he decided to make
finding Easter baskets a little tricky...
check out the video of the maze of yarn he left
for 12 kids to unwind in order to locate their Easter loot.

South Pacific

After several months of rehearsals, last week Kaitlyn's
junior high performed "South Pacific."
Kaitlyn was a beach girl and a nurse.
Here she is all ready for the beach- 40's style.

And here she is after one of the performances in her nurse costume.

She had a great time and it was a fun show to watch.
This is a clip from the dress rehearsal.
Kaitlyn is in the front row, center.

40!

You only turn 40 once, so we celebrated big time last weekend for Chris. This is the sign that all of our little city saw on the way to church on Sunday.
Here is Chris at the beginning of life...no wonder our kids are so cute!

We had a party with friends and some family on Saturday. Here are the table decorations. 40's everywhere!

We had dinner and a lot of laughs..

Cold-stone cupcakes were a hit...

I scanned and copied pictures of the last 40 years of Chris's great life and made a wall of fame for him in the hallway. Everyone got a kick out of it at the party.

On Sunday we celebrated again with his family. Blowing out 40 candles creates a lot of smoke!

Getting so much attention can be a little overwhelming when you are 40. Chris was a great sport and we love him very much!

"Make yourself a dang quesadilla!"

We love Napoleon Dynamite.
We can center an entire YM/YW combined activity around that awesome movie.
Chris was incharge of last weeks activity and it was a hit.
Not sure if I like this picture. He stayed in character the whole night.
What a geek.
Everyone dressed up. Kaitlyn was Summer. "Vote for Summer!" Luv the bangs.

They had a dance-off which was hilarious.
This is the Mia Maids, who took 2nd. They rocked.

These are my friends Meg (LaFawnda) and Shauna (Kip).
They were crazy funny.

Here are 7th ward's fearless youth leaders.
They all dressed up, and not one character was duplicated.

I cooked "tots" for everyone. No one asked for a quesadilla.
Good times.

some pictures of Texas for y'all...

Kaitlyn and I just returned from a fun weekend trip to Austin Texas to visit Josh, Melisa and Amelia and meet cute-as-a-button Jett.
We became tourists for 2 days, checking out the river walk in San Antonio,

The Alamo,

Then walked among Texas Longhorns at the university
and ran into a Chinese dragon?
(Amelia LOVED it- we loved watching her!)

Found some noodles to walk through....

Hung out by a very large Texas star...

Went though the capital....

And we took a ride to the top of the tower of America...yikes.

The view was great and it was a fun place to run around
if you are 2 and have no fear.

It was a little too windy for Kaitlyn (childhood phobia).
She would only go outside for 10 seconds to get a picture.

We loved hanging out with Stephanie too...
she met us on the way out in Phoenix.

Jacob came along as well, so he could play with Amelia.

We ate a lot of great food, enjoyed spending time with family
and were glad to get out of the snow for a few days.
Thanks again for a fun weekend Josh and Melisa.....
